Mining Operations

    ased at Goa in India ' Salgaocars ' are well known for iron ore mining and export since pre-independence era. Mining is the mainstay of the organization and covers activities like identification of mineral bearing properties; acquisition, exploration and assessment; mining, processing and up-gradation; barge transport, shipping and export to global destinations. Activities are carried out with in-house expertise developed over five decades.

With established infrastructure, the organization is poised to export annually three million tons of processed raw material/ore for steel making.

    Mining is fully mechanized keeping in tune with the scale of operations, export commitments and heavy production schedule during limited fair weather season from October to May. It is opencast with design appropriate to bedded deposits and requisite safety provisions. Heavy duty ripper dozers are generally deployed with minimum use of drilling and blasting to ensure environmental conservation.
